2017
On November 14, 2017, the Second Annual Gala was held at the magnificent Frick Collection in New York City. It was well attended, and substantial funds from this amazing night will play a significant role in funding pediatric brain tumor research.

Dr. Mazen Kamen is President and Founder of The Kamen Brain Tumor Foundation and a cardiologist at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. He gave a warm welcome and opening remarks regarding the foundation’s mission and accomplishments last year. The Honorable Paul Volcker is Chairman of the Volcker Alliance Foundation, former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve of the United States, and former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He spoke about how brain cancer has affected the families and friends of some attendees at the event and called on the research community, with the support of funding from donors, to drive home a cure for this devastating disease.
Dr. Ira Dunkel is Chairman of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium and a Pediatric Oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He spoke about how recent advances in the treatment of pediatric brain tumors are providing hope to those afflicted and in need of safer and more effective treatments options.
